Straight Cup Wheels
Cup wheels with steel plate (TTSKL) or steel flange (TSSKL). The steel plate and the steel flange enable an even stronger fastening of the inserted nut. The flange provides additional safety and strength to the wheel. Cup wheels with steel plate or steel flange are made for rail grinding applications on Vignol and grooved rail, such as corrugation grinding, grinding of running edge and joint welds. Upon special request the cup wheels can be fitted with an external fiber glass winding for added safety.
Equipment Compatibility
Hioma grinding wheels are compatible with rail grinding machines from leading manufacturers, including Geismar, Robel, Vossloh, Goldschmidt, Autech, Nencki, Windhoff, Lüddeneit & Scherf, and Mankinen – as well as most other brands of rail grinding equipment using standard e.g. M20, M14, M12, 4×M8, or 4×M10 mountings.

Wider cup wheels for greater durability and cost-efficiency For rail grinding machines specified for a 125 mm cup wheel, we recommend upgrading to our 130 mm cup wheel. The additional width provides more grinding surface, which translates directly into longer wheel life, fewer wheel changes during grinding work, and greater cost-efficiency over time through reduced wheel consumption.
Based on our experience to date, we have not encountered a machine specified for a 125 mm cup wheel that could not accommodate our 130 mm version – making it a straightforward upgrade in most cases. As always, we recommend confirming fit against your specific equipment’s mounting and clearance before switching.
